The Last Month

March 5, 2007 | 0 Comments

It’s been a long month six weeks. Here is the quick and dirty version of what I’ve been doing since sometime in January:

It’s been a very busy but fun few weeks. This week I get to unpack my office and then next week is Skylight on the Beach(es).

CSStuxAlso, during the last few weeks Mindless Chatter has been featured at CSS Tux as one of the “best dressed sites on the internet.” There have been additions to the site over the last few weeks so I’ve been pushed to the bottom of the page, but it’s still a pretty cool honor.

See you soon.

What’s Been Going On

July 5, 2006 | 0 Comments

It’s been quite awhile since I last posted anything meaningful. I know the 24 reviews have been highly captivating and all, but a lot more has been happening in my life. Without boring everyone to tears — and by everyone I mean the two people who will actually read this — I’m going to try and capture the last few weeks of my life in a few paragraphs. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

A few weeks ago I started the arduous process towards SCUBA certification. This means countless hours of not actually doing anything. Well, not really. I read a book, answered some questions, and dove in a pool for a few hours. Today I went down to DeLeon Springs (think cold water) and spent another few hours underwater performing various skills. I am now one ocean dive away from being a full blown PADI Open Water diver. Look out world, here I come.

Last week I was in the Golden Isles/Brunswick area of Georgia with the sixth graders on their mission trip. It was a lot of fun and the kids did more work then I could have imagined. They built cabins so that future TEAMeffort work teams will be able to come and help out the area. It was a great trip and I only had to take one person to the hospital — that was a first.

Last night was the fourth of July. Fireworks. Bang.

I am currently counting down the days until Intel releases the Core 2 Duo — stupid name I know — processor and Apple puts it in the iMac. When that glorious moment comes, I will be buying a pimped out computer that will then be cooler than yours. I’m a geek, I know.

The week before I left for the mission trip I officially became the Associate Youth Director of First United Methodist Church of Orlando. I’m on the letterhead. Cool huh?

Saturday I leave with the seventh and eighth graders on their mission trip to Asheville, NC. I don’t really have a clue what we’ll be doing. Should be fun though.

I’ve been getting back into Fueled by Ramen music lately. October Fall is a great band. Check them out.

I’m tried of this. This posting is done.

Well, almost. I found this funny and maybe the two of you will also. Check it out: Website Flags.

The Real World

May 11, 2005 | 3 Comments

Ok, so I seemed to drop off the face of the earth here. It wasn’t the first time and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last. Though, I do have a good excuse.

I graduated from The Florida State University a little over a week ago with a degree in Business Administration. I actually don’t have the degree yet. It comes in the mail at some point, or so they tell me. I guess it was pretty cool now, but while I was actually graduating it just seemed like a big pain. Let me put it in context.

The night before the ceremony I was packing until 2am. Four hours of sleep later I was up and getting dressed, amidst the revelation that the ‘Runaway Bride’ made the story up, and heading out the door for Commencement. Three hours later I was back in my dorm moving out. It just seemed like a big mess, but now I’m a college graduate and that is pretty cool.

You could say I’m putting off my entrance to the real world by just a little bit. No, I’m not going on to get an MBA or a law degree, but I am working at the church as the Summer Youth Intern. Basically I get to plan out the summer for the kids and make it all happen. It’s actually a lot of fun and a pretty sweet way to transition into the working world.

On the web side of things, it seems I have a boat load of web pages to be working on of late. There is this one, the old Bryan Hall site, my newly acquired www.JustinCox.com, and two new sites: one for a hosting company and the other for a friend seeking fame as an actress. Look for more information on those once the sites are completed.

I guess you can say I’ve been keeping pretty busy and probably will throughout the summer. Mixed in all the above activities I’m going to be trying to find a job so if anyone has something to offer, feel free to contact me. But that’s my life in a nutshell. Maybe I’ll try and update more often here and actually make this site worth viewing. We’ll see.
