I’ve been collecting various websites for quite some time. Some are funny, some are interesting, but all are worth your time. Below is the list, in no real order, with a slight description of what the site is and why I’ve included it here. Ok, so maybe this was a ploy to clean out my favorites list. But seriously, these websites are cool, check them out.

Play chess against a computer. So what, right? You actually get to see the computer map out each move so you can see from when you move your first pawn how screwed you really are.

A Parent’s Primer to Computer Slang
This is an article written by Microsoft with the intentions of clueing parents into their teens IM conversations. Such a guide is necessary because after all, teens have created “the digital equivalent of pig Latin with a twist of hieroglyphics.” Thank you Microsoft for telling me that “ph” often replaces “f,” as in “phear” for “fear,” as in “ph34r my l33t skillz.”

This is pretty self explanatory. Just enter your age and feel inadequate. For instance, at age 22:

• Charles Darwin set off as ship’s naturalist on a voyage to South America and the Galapagos Islands.
• James Joyce left his family, his church and his country for the European continent, in order to become a writer.
• U.S. swimmer Mark Spitz won a record 7 Olympic gold medals.
• Inventor Samuel Colt patented the Colt six-shooter revolver.

Just look at “Edge of the Galaxy” and wonder why NASA decided not to maintain Hubble anymore.

US Postal Service Boxes
Free 12×12x8 boxes from the US Postal Service. The catch? They come in lots of 25. No matter as this will greatly help any college student who is attempting to move.

Get Your Refund Status
Want to know where your tax refund is? The IRS is actually nice enough to tell you. Just enter your SSN, estimated refund and when you filed and they do the rest. Pretty handy.

The Credit Card Prank
This guy poses the question “does anyone actually look at your signature on the credit card slip?” Journey with him as he signs his “name” in various ways, including “I Stole This Card.”

What Does Your Phone Number Spell
Pretty simple, type in your phone number and see what kind of word combinations can be made. What does mine spell? You’re not getting my number that easily.

Got SPAM and want to know where it’s coming from? Look at the headers, find the IP address and put it in here. Stalking has risen to a whole new level.
